A film featuring swimmers at Tooting Bec Lido premiered over the weekend.

Swim Fat Boy Swim follows Nigel Reid as he prepares for the National Cold Water Swimming Championships of Finland.

In the film the regular cold water swimmer meets with other dedicated swimmers at the lido and finds out what motivates them to swim in the cold.

It concludes in Finland, showing Mr Reid taking his hobby to the next level and compete against the world's top outdoor swimmers.

Mr Reid, who wrote and directed the film, said: "I’m thrilled that Swim Fat Boy Swim is going to be shown on national television and I hope that viewers enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed making it.

"Tooting Bec Lido is a great outdoor facility and I hope my film might inspire others to give outdoor swimming a try."

Alexander Kann, general manager of Community Channel, said: "I am delighted to have this opportunity to share Swim Fat Boy Swim with Community Channel viewers across the UK. It’s a fantastic film that is entertaining and showcases a brilliant local facility."

The film was screened on the Community Channel on Sunday January 20 at 9pm.
