Inquest rules Mitcham mother was unlawfully killed

A verdict of unlawful killing has been recorded at an inquest into the death of a Mitcham mother who was found in a river in the Norfolk Broads. 

Annette Creegan, 49 of Beecholme Avenue in Mitcham, was found naked and tied up in the River Bure on September 2, 2012, having been strangled with a ligature.

Her partner, 41-year-old John Didier, was found drowned in the river nearby - his ankles and wrists weighed down by dumb bells. 

The couple and her 13-year-old daughter had been on a boating holiday when the tragedy happened.

The teenager was later found alone on a boat after the hire company alerted police that the vessel had not been returned.

Ms Creegan was born in Balham and had worked as a nurse at the Trinity Hospice in Clapham.

Coroner William Armstrong recorded a verdict of unlawful killing in respect of Annette Creegan and that John Didier died from drowning.
