Snow causes only minor disruption as all schools believed to be open and transport running smooothly

Around a centimetre of snow fell overnight but it has not caused significant disruption so far.

At this point it appears all schools are open and public transport is running with just a few minor delays despite the wintry weather.

Light snow is set to continue until mid-morning with the temperature staying around freezing until around lunchtime when it will rise to around 2C, according to the Met Office.

Thanks for trying to scare us, the gullible public, again. Snow, in winter! Good Lord! You`ll be writing a story telling us that the sun is going to rise next Tuesday, next.

Shouldn't the first paragraph of this article read:

'Around a centimetre of snow fell overnight AND it has not caused significant disruption so far'

By using the word 'but' the writer implies that we should expect 1cm of snow to be causing significant disruption.

I know this is Britain and we are useless at dealing with snow, but surely the slightest little bit can fall before we start expecting everything to grind to a halt?

We know there is no trouble really as South West Trains have not implemented their 'Severe Weather Timetable' yet. That will happen as soon as any snow actually settles.

I spotted a flake or two falling this morning on the shed roof but it didn't settle on the ground, so perhaps they were fake flakes. A bit traumatised by it but I bravely "braced" myself and after a few counselling sessions I should be able to cope with it like a "hero". lol.
Put out extra rations this evening for my fox Freddy to compensate for the current press slur against him.
