VIDEO: Birds of prey visit London Wetland Centre for Wing Watch
5:00am Thursday 21st February 2013 in News By Jamie Henderson
Children met a range of magnificent birds of prey at the London Wetland Centre on Saturday.
Expert falconer Ben Long was on hand to answer questions from eager young bird lovers who dropped in to learn more about species such as peregrine falcons and an array of owls.
The event was part of Wing Watch, running throughout the half term week, which gives youngsters the chance to find out more about the army of raptors and other birds which frequent the nature reserve.
Since the London Wetland Centre opened in Barnes in 2000 almost 20 different bird of prey, including kestrels, sparrowhawks, red kites and peregrines, have been spotted on site.
