Muscle Car Day raises profile of Brain Awareness Week
7:00am Tuesday 12th March 2013 in News By Jamie Henderson
The Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability (RHN) hosted an American Car Fun Day this weekend.
On Saturday, American Classic and Muscle cars, including a 1959 Ford Thunderbird and a 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback, convoyed to the hospital grounds, West Hill, in Putney.
The event kicked off Brain Awareness Week, the global campaign to increase public awareness of the progress and benefits of brain research.
To coincide with Brain Awareness Week, the charity are launching a video on their new website featuring patients and the difference technology makes to their lives.
The RHN hopes to raise a total of £20,000 over the week to pay for vital technology, however with all donations match-funded by a mystery donor, it only needs to find half of that figure.
The hospital is an independent medical charity that provides rehabilitation and long term care to people with complex neurological disabilities caused by damage to the brain or other parts of the nervous system.
Visit rhncharity.org.uk to watch the video, and make a donation on the campaign page.
