Family search for colleagues of Battersea pipe fitter who died of asbestos

A bereaved family is appealing for anyone with information on a pipe fitter, who died of asbestos.

David Russell Tims, of Battersea, died in March 2009 after contracting mesothelioma.

Mr Tims worked as a pipe fitter at Rosser & Russell Ltd between 1961 and 1969.

From 1974 and 1985 he worked at Marryat Jackson Norris Ltd, where it is thought he was exposed to the asbestos fibres which caused his death.

His work involved repairing boilers, removing asbestos lagging and removing old pipes lagged with asbestos.

Sarah Hunt, legal expert on asbestos claims working for the family, said: "This case is not just about compensation.

"The family desperately wants information from David’s former workmates so they can achieve some sort of justice that recognises his wholly undeserved suffering."
