Police are appealing for witnesses after a stolen BMW crashed into three cars and landed on its roof.

Firefighters and police were called to the scene in Ibsley Gardens, Roehampton, just before midnight this morning.

The black BMW M5 smashed into a parked Ford Mondeo, Peugeot 206 and another unidentified car.

It is believed three or four people fled the scene before the emergency services arrived.

The BMW was stolen from an address in Fulham and has been removed by police for forensic investigation.

Nobody was injured and no arrests have been made, with the incident taking place close to Roehampton University.

Firefighters said the road looked like "carnage", with debris strewn everywhere when they arrived.

A spokesman from Wandsworth fire station said: "It was a bit unusual for us, in that road, because it is so quiet.

"You don't expect to see a BMW on its roof."

Anyone with information can call police on 101.
