10:00am Saturday 16th March 2013 in News By Alexandra Rucki
Gym members in the borough are attempting to cover 1m miles for The Brain and Spine Foundation.
The challenge, taking place in Kinetika gyms, encourages fundraisers to collectively clock up miles by running, cycling or rowing on fitness machines.
Fundraisers from Balham Leisure Centre, Latchmere Leisure Centre and Roehampton Leisure Centre have all signed up.
Gym members from Tooting Leisure Centre and the Wandle Recreation Centre are also racking up the miles.
The fitness-fundraiser is part of a six week challenge, completed by 10,000 supporters in Kinetika gyms across the UK.
All money raised in Wandsworth is being donated to The Brain and Spine Foundation, which helps people affected by brain and spine conditions.
Kinetika gyms manager Dave Joliffe said: "Both our staff and our growing community of members are really excited about taking on this challenge and raising as much money as we can, using JustTextGiving, for a very deserving local cause."
To make a donation through JustTextGiving text KGYM61 £2 to 70700.
