A convicted murderer has been cleared of running a drugs ring from inside Wandsworth prison last week.

Jordan Burree, 25, was accused of making thousands of pounds by selling cannabis and mobile phones to other prisoners inside the prison.

But Burree and fellow defendant Bianca Davis, 27, were cleared on Friday after a week-long trial at Southwark Crown Court.

In December 2011, Burree was ordered to serve life with a minimum of 33 years after being found guilty of the murder of Sadiq Adebiyi, 25.

Mr Adebiyi was shot in a 'ride by' shooting with a machine gun in May 2011 in Clapham Road, near Stockwell underground station.

Four years earlier, Burree was cleared of the unsolved murder of Fabian Ricketts, 18.

Mr Ricketts, from Mitcham, was shot outside the Battersea Bar, York Road, Battersea, on Easter Monday in 2006.

Burree was cleared after the trial suddenly collapsed in June 2007, when key witnesses refused to give evidence at the Old Bailey trial.
