Mayor of Wandsworth, Councillor Adrian Knowles, has been presented with a new cloak while visiting Northcote Lodge preparatory school for boys.

Coun Knowles, a qualified physicist, and a former school teacher, spoke to the boys about his mayoral duties during the visit on March 11.

The cloak, made by the school’s head of Art and Design Technology, Amanda Burnyeat, featured the school crest, the date and the school motto, ‘Si Je Puis’ which translates to ‘If I can’.

The outside of the velvet cloak was covered in 216 hand-made copper and brass medals, designed and decorated individually by each boy at the school.
