Wimbledon Common fun run raises £15k for charity
More than 200 people pounded their way round Wimbledon Common last weekend while raising £15,000 on behalf of Putney's Royal Hospital for Neurodisability (RHN).
The hospital's inaugural 5k or 10k Fun Run took place on Saturday (August 10) and a wide range of participants including RHN staff, friends and family of patients and even a former patient.
More than £15,000 was raised to help fund the charity’s additional therapies and services for adults affected by severe neurological disability.
Anna Wall-Budden, senior community and events executive, said: "We’re over the moon that our £15,000 target has already been achieved and we’re already looking forward to next year, which should be even bigger and even better.
"A huge thank you goes out to everyone who took part, everyone who came down to support on the day and all of our volunteers who made the event possible."
