Couple host garden party for Balham Nightingale House residents
A couple hosted a garden party for people living in a Jewish care home.
The party, which took place in Surrey, was hosted by Leila Stone and Stephan Stone for residents staying in Nightingale House, in Nightingale Lane, Balham.
More than 60 elderly residents and supporters attended the garden party, which helped to raise money for the care home.
Mrs Stone's mother has been cared for in Nightingale House since 2003 and the couple wanted to show their support to the organisation.
Money raised during the event will go towards running the costs of the care home and providing care.
Mr and Mrs Stone said: "It is an honour to be able to show our support to Nightingale Hammerson by hosting a garden party in our home.
"We are glad that so many people could attend.
"The care Nightingale Hammerson provides my mother and my mother-in-law is excellent and we hope that the money raised yesterday helps contribute to sustaining this level of care."
Leon Smith, chief executive of Nightingale Hammerson, said: "We are very grateful to Leila and Stephen Stone for putting on a Garden Party in their home.
"Having such dedicated supporters is very important to Nightingale Hammerson in ensuring that we have the funds to provide the highest quality of care to each resident."
