There is something strange about your story of the lost postbox keys in Tooting.

Have I missed a point or is the statement by Royal Mail spokesperson, Sally Hopkins merely an attempt to maintain or re-gain public confidence and is not actually true?

I would have assumed that the same keys are required to open the boxes as to re-close them normally after collections.

The statement that, "The boxes were cleared of mail before they were sealed so no items were left inside them--" is unlikely to be true unless they either have an employee with an exceptionally long thin arm or a very clever robot which enters through the slot.

What is the real story?
