Firefighters across Wandsworth will be striking for four hours today following a dispute about pensions.

A total of 10 firefighters will be picketing outside Battersea Fire Station, in Este Road, while eight are striking outside Tooting Fire Station, in Trinity Road.

Fire crews will also be on strike at Wandsworth Fire Station and Clapham Fire Station.

Dave Waterman, Fire Brigades Union (FBU) South West Area chair, will be joining the strike outside Battersea Fire Station.

He said: "We are going on strike in opposition to the governments unfair attacks on our pensions.

"At 12am we are going to withdraw our labour picket outside Battersea fire station and those pickets will be mirrored across the country."

Fire engines have been temporarily removed from Clapham and Wandsworth Fire Station to be on standby.

A total of 27 engines will be used to provide cover across the capital manned by 200 Secrutias Staff.
