A pilot scheme which helps young people find housing is being expanded to help more people.
Wandsworth Council's Housing into Work pilot is the first council making it a condition anyone seeking housing is also actively looking for work.
The pilot, initially designed to prioritise people aged 18 to 24, will now include people aged up to 30-years-old.
Part-time workers, who work up to 16 hours a week and claim Job Seekers' Allowance, are also now being included in the scheme.
Tenants must agree to show they are actively seeking work and face losing their home if they are not.
Over the course of the programme participants attend meetings with a council liaison officer, take part in training placements and aim to become prepared for employment.
The new rules will not apply to current tenants.
