Tension builds as High Court judicial review result looms
A community group is anxiously awaiting the result of a High Court judicial review which challenges the legality of plans to build roads on Putney Common.
The Friends of Putney Common (FofPC) have taken legal action after discovering an easement agreement, or payment, signed in February 2012, between Wandsworth Council and the Wimbledon and Putney Commons Conservators (WPCC).
The payment was issued for the use of an access road in order to build a 420-pupil school on the site of the former Putney Hospital.
The review was held on Wednesday (October 9) last week.
Justice Wyn Williams will now consider the facts placed before him by complainant Nicholas Evans, on behalf of FofPC, defendant WPCC and Wandsworth Council, the interested party.
More than 800 Putney residents objected to the original planning application connected to the easement agreements.
