A film shot entirely in Tooting Common is being screened for the first time in the UK.

Common People tells the story of a lost parrot and revolves around the lives of six Londoners.

It was filmed in April last year and stars 'Allo 'Allo actor Sam Kelly, as well as children from Wandsworth schools and drama groups.

A story which featured in the Wandsworth Guardian about the idea of the film also encouraged neighbours to sign up as extras.

The film was awarded the Independent Spirit Award at the Sedona International Film Festival earlier this year.

It was also nominated for the St Louis Film Critics' Award for Best Narrative Feature.

Creators Stewart Alexander and Kerry Skinner, of Furzedown, have organised this one-off screening to bring it all back to where it started.

The couple, who worked as actors before making the move to film-making, were inspired to make it after seeing a poster looking for a missing parrot on the common.

A few weeks after they saw another poster saying the bird was found and thanked people for reporting sightings.
