Staff at Southern Rail have donated toys to sick children at Croydon University Hospital.

The toys have been donated from staff at Southern's rail depot in Selhurst, staff from Brighton station and depots, Eastbourne train crew depot, Southern HQ, Reigate station and their Stewarts Lane depot.

The Christmas presents were given to children on the Rupert Bear ward at the hospital yesterday.

CSR and Partnership Manager, Andy Harrowell said: "Our staff have rallied to the call and generously donated a tremendous amount of toys for the children who will be in hospital at Christmas, and have been able to help Father Christmas with his deliveries this year."

Croydon Health Service Consultant Paediatrician, Doctor Theo Fenton said: "I’m working Christmas day and I know the children will be so pleased with the presents – it will really help to brighten their day."
