Thirteen babies were born on New Year's Day at St George's Hospital in Tooting.
While the number may be unlucky for some, the dawn of 2014 proved very lucky for 13 new mums and their newborns.
The closest arrival to the stroke of midnight on New Year's eve was a child born at 11.03pm.
There were also eight babies born on Christmas Day at the hospital.
The maternity ward at St George's dealt with 5,128 births in 2013, more than any other year.
Services include an early pregnancy assessment clinic, antenatal and post-natal clinics, and a day assessment unit for pregnancy problems.
There is also a specialist region for women with medical problems such as diabetes, and a teenage pregnancy clinic.
