Food entrepreneurs are being offered tips on how to set up their own businesses by restaurateurs.

A series of events are taking place next month as part of Wandsworth Enterprise Week, an initiative organised by Wandsworth Council.

The events aim to help businesses flourish, through the help of free workshops, seminars and events.

Aspiring restaurant owners are being invited to take place in a food enterprise event taking part at Harrison's, in Bedford Hill, Balham.

Restaurateur Sam Harrison will be offering tips and taking visitors through his own experiences.

Mr Harrison praised the businesses of Balham, claiming Wandsworth small businesses help add to the community feel.

He said: "I think the enterprise week is a great idea. We should encourage more local people to become entrepreneurs.

"This country is quite good at making it very hard for people.

"We need to thank small businesses, encourage people to do that and there are lots of opportunities for people if you want to work hard you can make a business work."

Other speakers include Laura Tenison, founder of JoJo Maman Bebe and Daily Telegraph columnist Rose Prince, who runs the Pocket Bakery from her home in Battersea.

A Natwest Business Bus will tour Wandsworth on Monday and Thursday, inviting business advisers on board by offering free advice.

The enterprise weeks is running from February 3 to 8.
