Detectives from specialist police unit Sapphire are appealing for information after a man was raped in a church yard.

CCTV images of a man police would liek to speak to have been releasedin relation to the incident.

Police were called after a 26-year-old man was attacked on Saturday, September 14, last year between 2.30am and 3.34am in a churchyard along St John’s Road, Putney.

He was approached by a man outside of a bar called The Toy Shop, in Putney High Street, at approximately 2am and the pair walked up the high street together.

The man then raped the victim in the churchyard of the St John Evangelist Polish RC Church.

He is described as being white, in his mid 20s with short dark-blonde hair.

He also spoke with a noticeable London accent.
