Volunteers for a Clapham hospice have been busy knitting away in order to create 5,000 wooly chicks for an annual fundraising campaign.

Trinity Hospice's Easter Chick campaign is now in its 15th year, and in that time has raised more than £67,000 for the Clapham Common North Side hospice.

It sees volunteers stitch knitted chicks which are then stuffed with chocolate eggs and sold to schools and businesses nearby.

All the money raised goes to Trinity’s nurses, who provide end of life care to more than 2,000 patients and their families each year in central and south west London.

The hospice needs to raise an estimated £7m annually in order to continue its work.
