Olympic medalist Jamie Baulch gave an inspirational talk to secondary school students on Monday encouraging them to live their dreams.

Baulch brought in his silver medal he won in the 4x400m relay at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games and spoke to students of Thames Christian College in Battersea about how he pursued his goals.

Head teacher, Stephen Holsgrove, said Baulch was entertaining and at times hilarious in his story telling.

He said: “We hope his message has inspired them to pursue their own aspirations wholeheartedly,” he said.

Student Matthieu Chung, 15, who has ambitions to become a pianist and gain a place at the Royal Academy of Music, said he was more determined to practice and not let anyone put him down,

He said: “It has taught me that there will be many failures in life but it is these challenges that enable you to go on to achieve your goals.”
