Police are appealing for witnesses after a collision in Wandsworth left a man in a critical condition.

Officers were called at 4.28pm on Saturday to reports of a collision between three vehicles - a VW Polo, a Ford Mondeo and a bus - in Buckhold Road, near Southside Shopping Centre.

Eight people were taken to hospital by ambulance.

Two 21-year-old men and a 20-year-old woman, all of whom were travelling in the Polo, remain in hospital.

One of the men is in a critical condition; the other man and the woman have serious injuries but they are not believed to be life threatening.

Five other people have subsequently been discharged from hospital.

The bus, a route 156, was in service. Noone on the bus was seriously injured.

Detectives from the Collision Investigation Unit, based at Hampton Traffic Garage, are investigating. Anyone who witnessed the collision should call police on 020 8941 9011. To remain anonymous call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
