Police have arrested 15 people on a housing estate in a series of dawn raids targeting gang crime this morning.

Officers executed 21 search warrants simultaneously at 4.30am at a number of addresses on the Roehampton Estate in Wandsworth.

Two women and 13 men aged 18 to 29 were arrested for conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.

They are believed to be part of a Wandsworth gang and have been taken to a central London police station where they remain in custody.

More than 400 officers carried out the raid led by the Trident Gang Crime Command with the Met's Territorial Police Group and officers from the Dogs unit.

Police seized a small quantity of drugs including cannabis and heroin during the raids.

Safer neighbourhood team officers will be on patrol in the Roehampton area and neighbouring wards today, speaking to residents and businesses about today's operation.

Detective Superintendent Penny Banham from Wandsworth police, said: "Every person we believe to be affiliated to a gang in Wandsworth is given the opportunity and support to turn their back on this lifestyle through our multi agency partnership.

"However, those who choose not to accept this help and support can expect us to target them through enforcement."
