A UKIP candidate suffered a suspected stroke during a community group’s hustings.
It is understood Strachan McDonald suddenly became ill in the middle of speeches at the Wandsworth Society election forum last night.

A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service said: “We were called just after 8.20pm to Westside Church, in Melody Road, to reports of a man who was taken unwell.
“We sent one of our ambulance crews to the scene and a single responder in a car.
“We treated a 71-year-old man who was taken as a priority to St George’s Hospital.”
Alexander Balkan, the secretary for UKIP Battersea, said: “I’ve known him for the last year and he has been a hardworking chairman.
“He’s been the one who’s pulled this branch on its feet and got it moving with other branch members.
“It is a big shock to see him unwell. We all hope for a quick recovery and thank Richard Shuttleworth for taking over after him.
“Strachan is a very lively character. If it wasn’t for him we wouldn’t be where we are today.
“In the meantime I’m going to take over what he has to do for the local election campaign.”
