Tooting MP Sadiq Khan claims Shadow Cabinet 'bragging rights' after beating colleagues in London Marathon
Tooting’s MP is ‘doing great’ after running the London Marathon but is now considering abusing his position in Parliament to ban the use of stairs.
Tired MP Sadiq Khan joked he was thinking of getting a stair lift installed in his house because they are so painful to use after he completed the marathon on Sunday in four hours and 19 minutes.

Most importantly he has managed to raise nearly £18,000 for the Dispossessed Fund, managed by The London Community Foundation, which raises money for charities and community-led groups tackling poverty in London.
Mr Khan is also celebrating after beating his pals Shadow Chancellor Ed Balls and Shadow Health Secretary Andy Burnham.
He said: "I was warned about the day after but it really is very painful. I’m walking like a cowboy.

"I did it in four hours 19 minutes. I’m really chuffed I have got bragging rights in the Shadow Cabinet.
"I started feeling really bad around mile 18 but there were people there with banners and lots of people from Tooting.
"There was this huge roar. At mile 18 the crowd were just awesome. I didn’t recognise everyone with posters but the fact that everyone turned up with posters was amazing. I saw my girls, lots of people and my friends.
"It was quite emotional at mile 22 onwards on the Embankment. At mile 25 I felt like crying. A marathon is the only sporting event in the world where amateurs like me can run in the same course with world class runners.
"Right at the end I saw Councillor Ben Johnson who was running for St George’s Hospital. At mile 25 we saw each other and gave each other a hug and pushed on.
"It was an amazing day."
When asked if he would consider running the marathon again he said: "There’s a famous British Olympic rower Steve Redgrave who won five Olympic gold medals and at the last one he said ‘If I have to go near a boat again just shoot me’ and I feel like that."
