A free course created to support and guide people about how to live with and manage their experience of cancer will start at the end of April.
Managing the Cancer Experience will be a seven-week educational programme developed by people with cancer, their relatives, friends and health carers to help people affected by the condition to better understand and cope with it.
Advice will be given on how to deal with a cancer diagnosis, side-effects of treatment and relaxation techniques which can help reduce stress and anxiety.
The course will take place over seven two-hour sessions every Wednesday afternoon at 2pm to 4pm from April 30 to June 11 at the Macmillan Butterfly Centre on the first floor of the Bradbury Wing at Epsom Hospital.
The Trust also hosts a support group for people affected by Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin lymphoma - a cancer originating from white blood cells, leukaemia and myeloma. It meets monthly on a Friday from 2.30pm to 4pm at the post graduate medical centre at St Helier Hospital.
For further information and to book a place on one of the courses contact Tarlika Patel on 01372 735 456.
