However, detectives investigating the murder have issued a statement this afternoon saying they are keen to speak to three young men seen by neighbours in the area prior to the incident.

An incident room has opened at the Homicide and Major Crime Command under Detective Chief Inspector Charlie King.

DCI Charlie King said: "At this early stage we are keeping an open mind about any possible motive.

“Members the public have already provided us with accounts of three young men seen loitering in the area prior to the incident.

“I am directly appealing to these three young men to come forward and speak us.

“I am also urging anyone who may have more information regarding this incident to contact us - all calls will be treated with the utmost confidentiality."
