The owner of the popular barge which has held host to Hollywood weddings and cabaret parties is passing on the reins to a younger generation.
Professional pianist Peter Lewis, 57, has run the Battersea Barge, permanently moored just off Nine Elms Lane between Vauxhall and Chelsea Bridge, for the last 15 years.
He decided to turn an old Dutch barge into a performance and party space - a perfect location for the burgeoning London cabaret scene and performers such as Harry Hill.
Weddings and civil ceremonies have also been a big part of the barge’s life and in 2012 Hollywood actor Chis O’Dowd and TV presenter Dawn Porter tie the knot on the barge.
