The daughter of a teacher stabbed to death in the middle of a classroom has travelled home to be with her family.

Acclaimed solo dancer at the Royal Ballet Emma-Jane Maguire, 30, from Battersea, has returned to Leeds following the death of her mother Ann Maguire, 61, who was stabbed to death by a teenage boy in her classroom at Corpus Christi Catholic School in Leeds, yesterday morning.

Spanish teacher Mrs Maguire was attacked in front of pupils in the school where she has worked for 40 years.

Emma-Jane was said today to have returned to her family home where she joined her father and older sister.

Today Kevin O'Hare, director of the Royal Ballet, said their thoughts were with Emma and her family.
