Police have charged a woman with murder over the discovery of baby remains on Tooting Bec Common.
Elita Amantova, 38, of no fixed abode was charged with the offence last night.
In September 10 2012, remains were found on the common at a location in Doctor Johnson Avenue.
Ms Amantova has been detained under s3 of the Mental Health Act and will appear at the Old Bailey on Friday May 16.
The remains, the legs of a baby, were first discovered by a council worker grasscutters depot.
A post-mortem gave the age of the child as less than two weeks, but was unable to determine gender or cause of death.
Police using sniffer dogs scoured the area for a further five days but not more remains were discovered.
Last year, on March 30, a dog walker unearthed human placenta buried inside an ice cream carton just a short distance away on Tooting Bec Common near the athletics track.
Again police searches found no other human remains.
