An entrepreneur has been recognised after he pitched his idea to Sir Richard Branson.

Carl Thomas, from Battersea, won the 2014 Virgin Media Innovation Award for miPic, a small technology business enabling artists to share and sell their smartphone and tablet images.

Battersea MP Jane Ellison said: "I am delighted that Carl did such a good job with his pitch to Sir Richard and that his idea to support artists has received recognition.

"I wish him well with his future development of miPic."

Mr Thomas' prize includes investment and marketing advice.
