A post box was set on fire in the early hours of this morning.
Fire fighters from Battersea Police station were called at about 3.30am to the post box in Falcon Road, Battersea, outside the Curry Leaves restaurant.
The blaze was quickly brought under control by the London Fire Brigade but fire fighters were keen to make people aware that their post might have been destroyed.
A spokesperson for the Royal Mail said: "Incidents such as these are, fortunately for our customers, rare but if anyone used the box after the last collection on Saturday and has concerns about their mail, they should contact our customer service team on 03457 740 740.
"Also, if anyone has any information about this incident, we would ask them to contact the police."
