This terraced Southfields home has gained a staggering £800,000 in just three years and epitomises Wandsworth’s soaring property market.

The four-bedroom house, in Elsenham Street, is on the market for a whopping £1.395m. However, three years ago it was rundown, owned by an elderly woman and worth about £575,000.

Now the house has earned its owners, Laura and Andrew Blake, about £660 a day.

The couple renovated the house and it now has a jacuzzi, a rowing machine under a trapdoor in the kitchen and a boiling water tap.

In the garden they have a golf putting green and lemon trees lit by sensor lights so they can enjoy fresh lemons all year round.

The couple now plan to move into and renovate another rundown house in the area.

The house is on sale with Kinleigh Folkard & Hayward estate agents.

Sales manager, Jennifer Young-Thompson, said: “Prices in Southfields have risen dramatically over the past few years and according to the Land Registry, the Borough of Wandsworth is currently reporting one of the highest rates of house price growth across the country at 17.6% annually.

“In particular, The Grid area of Southfields is hugely popular and appeals to a wide range of buyers with demand currently outstripping supply.

“This property required complete modernisation when it was bought and the property has been extensively renovated and extended to suit the local market which in the majority is currently led by families looking for large, open plan family homes.

“The owners have created a house that ticks all the boxes and more so that it appeals to this market, while also adding thoughtful extras designed to make life a little easier.”

The house has a double shower and a laundry chute from each bedroom leading to the laundry room
