The District line will be partially closed this weekend in the run up to the tennis championships.

There will be no service between Earl’s Court and Wimbledon on the District line on Saturday, June 21 and Sunday, June 22.

Replacement buses will operate between Hammersmith and Earl’s Court and Wimbledon.

The Wimbledon tennis championships will begin the day after the disruption ends, on Monday, June 23.

There is currently no scheduled disruption for the fortnight when thousands of people will descend on the borough for the tournament.

However the same part closures to the District line will be seen again on Saturday, July 12 and Sunday, July 13, the week after the tournament ends.

What's new - most of the underground and rail is shut down at weekends - adding to congestion with all the replacement bus services. Have friends who live in the Barbican who can get nowhere by public transport at week ends.
