Open Day to be held into Syrian Crisis

First published in

Government officials are hosting an oopen day inviting people to find out how the UK is helping in Syria.

Now in its fourth year, the Syrian crisis has impacted on millions, and with hostilities showing no signs of letting up problems mount in dealing for those displaced by conflict.

The Government has pledged £600 million in aid, but recognises that more can and must be done.

An open day, on Friday 27 June at Tooting Leisure Centre, will be held to discuss how the Government and the community can work together to help the Syrian people.

Hosted by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), the open day will give local people an opportunity to discuss what more can be done, ask any questions they have about the UK’s response to the crisis, and find out how the £600 million of UK aid is being used to help.

The open day, at the Greaves Place centre, will run between 11am and 4pm, and is open to all.
