A man has been charged with murdering a 61-year-old grandmother found strangled at home.
Regular church-goer Anna Maria Thomas was found dead by paramedics and police on December 10, 2013, at her home in Chilworth Court, Windlesham Grove, Southfields.
The mother-of-one had lived on the estate, on the edge of Wimbledon Common, for about 40 years.
Felix Guiterrez-Cortez, 34, of no fixed address, was charged today, Tuesday, July 29, with her murder.
He appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court and was remanded in custody to appear in custody at the Old Bailey on Thursday, July 31.
