A vigilant member of the public spotted a pair breaking into a property in Lavender Hill.
On the evening of Sunday, July 20, the person spotted a man, 25, and woman, 28, forcing entry to the property with a crowbar in Lavender Hill.
The person called the police and watched them as they started to walk away.
Police arrived on the scene, detained them and investigated the venue.
They found damage as well as stolen property on one of the pair, who was then arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary.
Both stated that they were trying to squat in the address.
The pair were give adult cautions for criminal damage and theft.
