A 33-year-old man who sexually assaulted women on buses has been jailed for two years.

Dean Forte, of no fixed abode, sexually assaulted women from the age of 14 to 33 on buses across Wandsworth, on the morning of Wednesday, December 11, last year.

On the 77 bus in Mitcham Road, Tooting, Forte sat next to a 15-year-old girl on the empty top deck and rubbed her thigh. She stood up and he left the bus.

In Upper Richmond Road, Putney, on the 220 bus, he rubbed the thighs of another 15-year-old girl who got off the bus.

He also targeted a 33-year-old woman on a 220 bus, in Putney Bridge Road, by rubbing her thigh. When she moved Forte grabbed and squeezed her thigh before getting off the bus.

He struck again on the 265 bus in Putney Bridge, rubbing the thighs of another 15-year-old girl. He also targeted a 14-year-old girl on the same route in Roehampton Vale.

A few days later Forte also assaulted three girls, aged 12, 14 and 16, on buses in Chingford, Waltham Forest.

Forte was sentenced at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Friday, August 1, after being found guilty of eight sexual assaults.

He will be placed on the sex offenders register for 10 years as and has been served with a Sexual Offences Prevention Order, preventing him from having contact with children under 16.

Forte was identified after his victims gave police identical descriptions following the assaults.

Graham Daly, head of community safety and policing partnerships at Transport for London, said: "Unwanted sexual behaviour of this kind will not be tolerated on our transport network and so I'm pleased this repeated sex offender has been jailed and put on the Sex Offenders Register for his predatory and disgusting crimes."
