Planning permission for a 24/7 minicab office, close to residents' homes, has been refused.

The application was for a minicab office to open in a laundrette premises, in Battersea Rise, on the corner of Limburg Road.

The council objected it on the grounds that business would have an unacceptable impact on nearby residential properties.

Planning chairman, Councillor Sarah McDermott, called it an “unneighbourly” application and said: “The council simply could not allow this application to proceed.

“Opening a minicab office in this particular location would have created totally unreasonable problems for residents. Many would have had their sleep disturbed and seen local parking spaces occupied by minicab drivers.”
