A school for deaf children has reopened today after an electrical fault forced it to delay the start of term.
A major electrical problem forced Oak Lodge School, in Balham, to close yesterday on the first day of term.
Rumours were circulating that a sinkhole could be to blame but the Headteacher confirmed leaking water pipes, under the floorboards, needed to be repaired.
A council spokesman said: "[On Tuesday] they discovered mains cables running through the large ducts that carry the water pipes, so they had to switch off the electricity in order to relocate the cables to make them safe. “
