This is what a former industrial heartland is expected to look like after the £8billion redevelopment of Battersea Power Station.

The developers of Battersea Power Station released these images today and announced they are going on a world-wide tour to attract brands, businesses and restaurants to the iconic building.

Wandsworth Times:

Work is underway to rebuild the power station's iconic chimneys

Throughout October and November the team will travel to 13 cities, in 11 countries, including Kuala Lumpur, New York, Dubai, Paris, Los Angeles and Tokyo.

When the entire redevelopment is finished in 2015, the 42-acre development will be home to 25,000 people.

There will be 115 food and drink outlets in the power station and 250 across the whole development.

The Battersea Power Station Development Company (BPSDC) expects the site will receive up to 40 million visitors each year.

Rob Tincknell, CEO of BPSDC, said: “The Power Station is unique, having a very powerful existing brand profile.

Wandsworth Times:

Multi-million pound apartments went on sale inside the power station this year

“Together with other leading global retail and business brands, we believe this combination will create a truly world-class destination and a significant addition to the fabric of London.”
