A second man has been arrested after a 21-year-old father was shot dead in Battersea last week.

Father-of-one Sebastian Jamal Hyman-Knight was shot in Tennyson Street at 11.30pm on Thursday, September 11.

Police found Mr Hyman-Knight in the street with a gunshot wound and he was taken to hospital, where he died in the early hours of Friday morning.

Police arrested a 29-year-old man on suspicion of murder on Monday evening and he is currently in custody at a south London police station.

A 30-year-old man who was arrested on Saturday, September 13, has been bailed to a date in late September.

A postmorterm examination at St George’s Hospital, Tooting, on Saturday, gave a cause of death as a single gunshot wound to the head.

Detectives from the homicide and major crime command are investigating and an incident room has opened.

Police said they retained an open mind as to any motive.
