Police are looking for a good Samaritan who helped save a young woman jumping off Battersea Bridge.

Two men helped police haul a woman to safety and officers are keen to thank them.

Police were called to a suicidal woman on the bridge in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Two officers went to help and found her sitting on a ledge overhanging the River Thames.

They tried to engage with her but she made a lunge towards the river. The Marine Support Unit had not yet arrived so the officers grabbed her arms to stop her falling.

Two men came to help the police pull the woman back over the barrier to safety. One left their details but officers want to find the other man to thank him.

The woman, in her late 20s, was unharmed and taken for treatment under the Mental Health Act.

If you know the good Samaritan call Chief Superintendent Ellie O’Connor, borough commander at Kensington and Chelsea police on 101.
