This is How We Die, an assortment of spoken word and storytelling, is showing at Battersea Arts Centre.

Wandsworth Times:

Christopher Brett Bailey, a Canadian performer, musician and Made in China associate artist, describes his act as: "A monologue that collages storytelling, poetry and comedy routines on a gamut of topics: death, sex, violence, loss, religion, political correctness and media saturation, all presented at breakneck speed from behind a writing desk.

"At the end of the text I am joined by some very talented friends for a cathartic finale of light and sound. It is my first "solo" show and I am having a blast doing it."

The production, which has been performed across the country including at the Edinburgh Fringe, runs in Battersea until November 14.

The performance echoes the likes of stand up comedian Lenny Bruce, and author and spoken word performer William Burroughs.

Bailey says: "The people who like it seem to really like it and many return for multiple viewings - which to me is the very biggest compliment - that you'd sacrifice two evenings for me, to sit through the same thing twice."

Tickets cost £12 or £9 for concessions and are available to buy at bac.org.uk/thisishowwedie.
