Time is running out to see the poppies at the Tower of London.
Despite calls from Boris Johnson to keep the poppies in place beyond Armistice Day, no extension has been agreed by the Historic Royal Palaces, the agency which runs the Tower of London.
The London mayor said the huge popularity of the exhibition meant he wanted to explore whether it could be kept at the site for longer than originally planned.
But Historic Royal Palaces said that it was always the intention to begin sending the 888,246 ceramic poppies - which have been sold to raise cash for charity - to their new owners after Armistice Day on November 11.
A team of 11,000 volunteers will begin removing the display on November 12, with the proceeds from the sale of the poppies being split between six charities providing support to service personnel, veterans and their families.
