The borough’s unsung heroes were honoured by the Mayor of Wandsworth at the 2014 Civic Awards.

The annual award ceremony took place at the civic suite in Wandsworth town hall on Monday, November 10.

It recognised six people who selflessly give their time for local charities and others in Wandsworth.

The mayor of Wandsworth Councillor Stuart Thom presented each award and said: “It is truly awe-inspiring and humbling to meet people who have given literally years of the life to helping other people.”

The winners were nominated by residents, businesses and voluntary organisations. They were each given an engraved crystal ambassador bowl.
