A Battersea woman has written her debut children’s novel featuring an imp.
Uma and the Imp, by Larisa Villar Hauser, is a children’s fantasy adventure for children aged eight or older.
The story tells the tale of Uma who, since the mysterious death of her parents in Peru, has lived with crazy Aunt Calista and her friend, an invisible imp with attitude.
When sinister strangers start asking questions about a Professor Harris, Uma finally has a chance to discover why her parents went to Peru.
Sometimes helped, sometimes hindered by Imp, Uma begins a journey that leads to the uncovering of a family secret and takes her to a mystical Inca temple.
She soon discovers that her parents’ death is even more mysterious than imagined.
Hauser took seven years to write the book, published by independent publisher ImpPrint Books.
Signed copies can be ordered, for £6.99, through the website ImpPrintBooks.com - these also come with a note from Uma and an Imp handprint.
