A woman had an unknown substance thrown at her face during a robbery at a florist.

Police are investigating after Clapham Flowers in Nightingale Lane, was targeted by a man who had his face covered at about 2.30pm on Thursday, November 27.

A 24-year-old woman, believed to be a worker at the shop, had liquid thrown at her face by the suspect.

The man then stole her mobile phone and ran out of the shop.

Paramedics were called and the woman was treated at the scene for shock and a skin reaction before being taken to hospital.

She was later discharged with no long-term injuries or scarring.

The mobile phone was recovered by police and returned to the woman.

London Fire Brigade also attended as a precaution but was unable to ascertain what the substance was.

No arrests have been made.
